THE BASICS

BEFORE YOU JUMP IN

Before you jump into reselling you need to understand that it is not as glamorous as it seems. It can be hard work and very expensive. Reselling has an incredibly shallow learning curve as there is a-lot to take in with some knowledge only becoming accessible with time and experience. Below we talk about the 2 main paths we have come up with. These paths explain the 2 ways we see beginners choose to follow each with different outcomes.

PATH 1 - CHEAP BOTTER

As botting is mainly the key to success when reselling large scale many beginner resellers will want to acquire a bot. Botting can be extremely profitable with some top botters making thousands upon thousands of dollars in profit per drop. However, these bots can come at an incredible cost.

Bots can range anywhere between $500-$8000. This is obviously an insane price especially for a beginner. All the beginner will see is a hefty price tag wall blocking them which they cant afford. So what the average beginner reseller does is look for a cheap bot which can get the job done. Different bots will have different prices, some bots cost as little as $500 and some cost upwards of $8000. This is all dependent on how well the bot performs, its consistency, its brand image and some other factors. Simply put; cheap bots are mostly shit, expensive bots are mostly good. The issue with many beginners looking to get into botting is they don't understand that they are setting them selves up for what we call "The Loop".

The Loop essentially consists of a beginner botter buying a cheap bot, pairing that with cheap peripherals such as proxies and getting stuck in a loop of not being able to cop enough for them to make a profit because of their poor quality choices. A cheap bot may be able to secure you a few pairs once in a while but what often happens is beginners will spend money on a bot, spend money on cheap proxies, not cop for weeks on end then finally cop 1x sneaker which yields them $30 profit. They are then fooled by the profit they made forgetting the fact that they spent $60 on proxies and $500 on a bot. This will then go round in circles, the beginner will spend more money on proxies and other externals to help them succeed, fail then occasionally cop and be fooled.

By all means, you are 100% able to succeed without having to purchase the most expensive bot you see, there is a balance that you need to consider when starting. If you choose Path 1, you can 100% make good money and profit off sneaker releases and climb the ladder of knowledge whilst copping a few profitable items here and there and making a quick buck. However if you truly want to make big money and take your reselling career to the next level, Path 2 is much better.

PATH 2 - GO BIG OR GO HOME

After years of reselling and guiding people to success, this is our recommended path you choose. Daunting at first, it will actually save you money in the long run. If your getting into botting and you are able to manage the risk, able to afford failure and able to learn, this path can be much more beneficial. As we mentioned, bots can be expensive so can the upkeep such as proxies, gmails, harvesters and tools which you will become familiar with over time. If you go big, and purchase a high quality bot which has great success, great features, a great development team and a good looking future it will set you up for a more efficient success path than PATH 1.

Think of it this way, you are challenged to drive from point A to point B, if you get there in under 10 seconds you win $1000, if you get there in under 30 seconds you get $450. You have 2 cars you can choose to drive; a Lamborghini which costs $500 or a Ford which costs $250. Lets think of the Ford as PATH 1 and the Lamborghini as PATH 2. PATH 1 is cheaper and more accessible to you but will take you longer to get to Point B. PATH 2 is much more expensive and riskier but will can get you to Point B much faster. Lets say you choose the Lamborghini, you are now down $500 and you have to spend $50 on gas. You have -$550 in your bank account. You drive to Point B in 7 seconds meaning you win $1000. You now have $450 profit in your bank account. Lets say you choose the Ford, you are now down $250 and you have to spend $30 on gas. You now have -$280 in your bank account. You drive to Point B in 35 seconds which is too slow so you didn't win $500. You spend another $100 on a spoiler to help you next time around, you are now have -$380 in your bank account. You take the race again and get to Point B in 28 seconds, with just 2 seconds to spare you win $500. Because you chose the cheaper option and tried to cut costs you had to spend more and more to perfect your setup so you could finally succeed. After all of that effort you made $70 profit. Think of these races as each drop.

Some drops your wheel is going to fall off, some drops your engine is going to fail and some drops your breaks wont work. You spend money and time trying to fix these issues to make the ford work and overtime you end up spending over $500 on repairs and features to help you succeed. But if you had just bought the Lamborghini in the first place you would be winning a-lot more races, you wont need to spend as much money on repairs and features to aid your success. Its much more efficient and cheaper in the long run. What we are trying to say is, botting is unpredictable and unforgiving. Some drops your not going to cop anything and you would have spent money and time for 0 reward. We are suggesting its best to arm your selves with machine guns to fight a war instead of a pistol.

In some cases, cost cutting can be very beneficial and some people are able to see just as much success as those with bots worth thousands of dollars more than theirs, however most of the time that is not the case. After our years or observing the paths beginners take, although we might not have explained it fully and you might not understand the analogy, it is much more efficient and profitable in the long run to choose Path 2. Go big or go home. However this "perfect" path comes at a much higher cost meaning your going to need a bigger budget.

Although we have portrayed botting as a do or die situation with only 2 paths you can take, there are certainly options that you can choose which can help you succeed without having to spend thousands on the best of the best. There is a balance and its not as left or right as we have made it seem however that is the general idea. Below is a great video which can enlighten you on the dangers of botting and give you a bit more context
