PRELOAD / PRECART
SHOPIFY PRELOAD / PRECART MODE
The preload mode is very useful and is one of the most popular modes. This mode essentially allows you to bypass the queue. There is a bit of confusion surrounding this mode especially amongst beginners. The way this mode works is when the user starts a task using preload, it will add a random item on the site to the cart. It will then wait in the queue, once it is out the queue it will remove the item from your cart and then start monitoring for your monitor input. Once stock loads it will then add your desired item to cart and because it has already been in the queue it will completely bypass the "new" queue and proceed to submit your profile details and hopefully checkout successfully. This puts you at a significant advantage from those who are not using this mode as they will have to wait in the queue which will significantly delay them.
As this mode is highly dependent on being able to add an item to cart before the drop it means you cannot use this mode if your target Shopify site has a password page enabled such as DSM. If the password page is up then it cant add an item to cart when you start the task because there are no items loaded. In such a case you should use safe mode which is the next best option.
HOW TO USE IT
It is important you understand how this task mode works in order to effectively use it. As your tasks need to add an item to cart then wait through the queue this means you need to leave plenty of room in-between starting your tasks and when stock is scheduled to drop. The later you start your tasks the longer you will have to wait in the queue however if you start too early before there even is a queue, your tasks will not successfully bypass the queue at drop time.
There is a fine balance between starting too early and too late. Lets assume the drop is at 10am EST. The sweet spot would be starting your tasks around 9:56:30am EST. However this depends on how hyped the drop is. If the drop is extremely hyped then the queue will be very long so you may have to start earlier. A good rule of thumb is to start earlier than you need to and if you see your tasks just go straight to monitoring and they have no sat in the queue then stop your tasks, wait 30 seconds and try again. As long as your tasks wait in the queue you should be good. You don't want to start too early to the point where there is no queue yet so your tasks don't even wait in it.
