RESIDENTIAL
RESIDENTIAL PROXIES
Residential proxies are essentially IP addresses that "look" like a home IP address to the site you are botting. This is very useful for some cases of botting but it comes at a cost and not necessarily a financial cost.
As briefly discussed in the WHAT IS A PROXY guide we know that sites are aware botters use proxies so attempt to ban / filter out most proxies. This is one of residential proxies biggest benefits. As residential proxies are "seen" as a, well, residential looking IP, meaning it looks like someone's home IP address they often don't get banned and work flawlessly on most sites in terms of being banned / filtered out.
The way residential proxies work is very different to the other two main types of proxy. When you purchase "resis" you are not buying a set amount of IP addresses like you are with ISP's and DC's. You are buying data. Think of it exactly like mobile data.
This data will come in gigabytes such as 1GB for $15. You may be asking, well how many GB's will I need? That question is basically impossible to answer as it is HIGHLY dependent on what site your botting, how many tasks your running, what your delays are and a number of different factors. The last thing you want is to run out of data mid drop. To explain data usage think of your phones cellular data. The more you use your phone to watch YouTube, download apps, browse Instagram the more data your going to use.
BUYING RESIDENTIAL DATA
When you buy residential proxies, as we have said you are buying a set amount of data. But what does that mean for IP addresses? Due to the way resis work with their data system, instead of getting a set amount of IP's you are able to "generate" as many IP's as you want. But this is where it gets important. The more proxies you generate and use the more your data is going to depreciate.
As we have been using mobile cellular data as an example we will go back to it again. Think of each task as a separate phone. Let's say your running 1000 tasks so you have 1000 phones all on the same data plan. Then lets say when you start your tasks, instead of your tasks / phones attempting to check out an item on a website, they are watching YouTube videos, browsing the internet, downloading apps etc... The more tasks you run the more your data is going to be drained. 1000 tasks / "phones" running is going to use a-lot more data than just 10 within the same amount of time.
Understanding this balance between how many tasks you should run for however much residential data you have is a hard calculation to make and is one of the hardest things to predict when it comes to botting. We do have a general idea but each drop is different, each site will use more or less data than another, one bot may use 10x more data for the same site in the same amount of time using the same amount of tasks than another bot. It is one of the most volatile fluctuations in botting.

USES OF RESIDENTIAL PROXIES
As we know resis are good because not only do they allow you to generate as many IP's as you want (at the cost of data usage) which allows you to scale up your task quantity which is essential for sites such as Yeezy Supply and footsites, but they also are rarely banned and can "bypass" most proxy filtering / protection. However there is a downside. They are often very slow. For sites that require immense speed such as Supreme and Shopify, residential proxies are not the best pick. For sites that require a large amount of tasks and not immense speeds such as Footsites and Yeezy Supply, residential proxies are a very good option.
RESIDENTIAL PROXY QUALITY
Not all residential proxies are the same. There are hundreds of different proxy companies out there, some better than others and it is important you diversify. However, these sneaker proxy companies are essentially just buying resi data in bulk quantities from proxy providers and reselling them to sneaker botters. This means that proxy company x and proxy company y could both be purchasing bulk resi data from proxy provider z and reselling them to customers for different prices.
Each of these different proxy providers differ massively from each-other in terms of speed, reliability and stability. The business of residential proxy companies is kind of scummy. Most are buying bulk data from awful, slow, unstable providers and reselling it as "premium" resi that claims to work flawlessly on all sites. Only for you to purchase a large amount and have 80% of your tasks show errors, time out and not work at all. It can be hard to identify a genuine proxy company that is selling good residential proxies and that is where we come in.
Over the past year we have been researching the best residential proxy provider and have identified one that is extremely successful and stable. As resis are mostly used on sites that require thousands of tasks such as Yeezy Supply and Footsites it means that resi networks can often die during a release. This is the last thing you want to happen and can be seriously detrimental to your success.
The residential proxy provider we are purchasing from and reselling to members for cost is extremely stable and often does not go down on drop time like 99% of other providers. Members will have exclusive access to these residential proxies for an insanely cheap price. You simply will not find a better, cheaper resi proxy network. Non-members will be subject to paying normal market price which is about a 100% markup depending on where these other proxy companies are buying their resis from.
In conclusion residentials are a great pick for scaling up tasks but as sites change overtime there are other options you may want to look at. Resis provide task scalability and the ability to "bypass" proxy filtering / banning however they can often be unstable, depending on where you buy your resis from and should be used as a supplement to a high quality ISP setup for most sites.
