RENTING

RENTING INFORMATION

Renting a bot can actually be pretty risky and you need to understand a few things. Renting can be very attractive especially for beginners as they are getting access to a bot that's likely worth thousands of dollars for as little as $10 per day. Renting a bot can be very beneficial but more often than not it will disappoint beginners and we will talk about these risks below.

RISK #1

Renting bots is a great way to get access to very powerful bots for a very cheap price. However, don't just jump straight into it. Especially as a beginner. There are 2 main risks involved with renting and they are both for 2 pretty different reasons. The first one being value. As we've said, renting can be very attractive. Some may think they can rent the best bot there is then expect to cook hundreds of pairs and make hundreds of dollars in profit meanwhile the cost of renting the bot is a small dent in the money you've made. In most cases this is far from the truth.

When you are looking to rent a bot you will want to make sure you understand EVERYTHING about the bot. You must know the ins and outs of the bot and how to run it efficiently. What happens is many beginners will rent out a bot with little experience then when drop time comes around they have no idea what they are doing ending in failure.

Bot peripherals are also a major player, you need to understand that you will have to spend a-lot of money on bot peripherals in order for your bot to be effective. If 100% is success, then a bot will take you about 30% of the way and the other 70% is down to the user and the bot peripherals. If the user has little experience with the bot and has no or poor quality peripherals there is a very high percentage your rental will end in failure.

TIPS FOR A SUCCESSFUL RENT

  • Ensure you know EXACTLY how your desired bot works

  • Make sure you know any little details about the bot that may be different to what you know

  • Many bots have specific methods so make sure you do your research

  • Research live cop videos and set up tutorials of your desired bot PRIOR to renting it out

  • Ensure you are renting from someone who has a-lot of success with the bot and will be able to provide you with support and the extremely important bot guides.

  • Prepare for the worst and hope for the best

  • Understand that renting a bot will not guarantee you success no matter how successful the bot is

RISK #2

The next risk in renting is trust between the renter and the rentee. You need to understand how renting a bot works in order to understand this risk so we will briefly explain how it works now.

Bots have a system called deactivating. When you buy and bot you activate it on your computer, however what if you want to move the bot from 1 computer to another? This is where deactivating comes in. Almost all bots will have this feature where you can click a button on the dashboard and it will allow you to move it from 1 machine to another. As most if not all bots only allow you to open 1 instance of the bot at a time you cant just open the bot on one computer and then expect to be able to open it again on another. That would basically mean you have 2 copies of the bot. So lets say you buy a bot and you activate it on your home PC. Your PC then blows up and you buy a new one and want to use the bot on there but you realise your bot is activated on your old PC so your not able to open it on your new one. You would go to the dashboard, deactivate it so it essentially "unbinds" it from your old PC. Once its deactivated you can then "activate" it to any machine you want.

This is essentially what's happening with renting. You are not getting full control over renters bot. They are simply just letting you activate it on your computer then when your done they will deactivate it again meaning it will "unbind" it from your PC so they can reactivate it on their PC basically locking you out.

So this is where risk is involved as their is essentially nothing stopping the renter from taking your money for the rental period then right before the drop they deactivate the key which kicks you off then they walk away with your money and they get to use their bot.

In most cases you should be fine, many are trust worthy and its easy to filter out the illegitimate people. Below are a few steps to ensure someone is legit when renting. This is particularly important as you wont be using a middle man for this transaction and it will all be done on trust.

HOW TO FIND A LEGIT RENTER

In this particular case we have many WTRO asks that all seem pretty legitimate but we will now talk about some of the things you will want to seek out. First of all you will want to rent off someone who has many "refs". A ref is a twitter comment on someone's twitter explaining their experience with that person when doing some sort of transaction.

Here we can see the twitter page of yrnick. This person was wanting to rent out SoleAIO and would be an ideal person to rent from for 3 reasons. First of all in the purple square we he provides his discord name and ID. This means we are able to ensure the person listing the WTRO is actually the person on twitter. In some cases discord users will pretend to be people with legitimate looking twitter accounts so you are fooled into giving them money thinking they are a reputable person and are likely not to scam you.

Next in the red square we see his follower count. Although this is not as important, it can be another indication of legitimacy. We can see yrnick has near 800 followers which is ideal. Remember followers can be fake and this could mean nothing but the point is, try and stay away from people with fake followers or a very low number of followers.

Next in the green square we can see yrnick's legit check post. Some people will simply call it a legit check and some like yrnick will post a sentence explaining it. Overall its the same thing and you will want to focus on the comments. yrnick is a great example of a very reputable person as they have 263 legit check refs. That means 263 have had successful transactions with this person. However these can be forged so watch out. Not many people will have hundreds of refs but they are still legitimate so if you are not sure a general rule of thumb is to combine all the points, ensure they have a decent following, around 10+ refs and are able to make sure they are able to prove the person on twitter is actually them. If someone doesn't say they have refs in their listing a good way to check for your self is by doing the following.

Right click on the discord users name, then click profile and it will bring you to the page above. From here more often than not discord users will have their twitter account connected so you can check them out. If they don't have it connected but are claiming x account is theirs, ask them to DM you on twitter to prove they have access to it and its theirs.

RENTING OUT INFORMATION

Renting out your bots when you are not using them is a great way to make money but you need to understand a few things. Firstly if your planning on renting out your bot you should already have a full understanding of how your bots unbinding and deactivating system works. Some bots don't allow renting / don't support it and some do. That is something you need to find out. Some bots support it but don't allow it, some bots support it and allow it and some bots don't allow it at all. Mostly renting your bot out is pretty risk free although it can be daunting at first as you are handing over your key. If you are scared you must understand how these systems work which is what we'll explain next.

Bots have a system called deactivating. When you buy a bot you activate it on your computer, however what if you want to move the bot from 1 computer to another? This is where deactivating comes in. Almost all bots will have this feature where you can click a button on the dashboard and it will allow you to move it from 1 machine to another. As most if not all bots only allow you to open 1 instance of the bot at a time you cant just open the bot on one computer and then expect to be able to open it again on another. That would basically mean you have 2 copies of the bot. So lets say you buy a bot and you activate it on your home PC. Your PC then blows up and you buy a new one and want to use the bot on there but you realise your bot is activated on your old PC so your not able to open it on your new one. You would go to the dashboard, deactivate it so it essentially "detaches" it from your old PC. Once its deactivated you can then "activate" it to any machine you want.

This is essentially how renting works. Instead of deactivating the key so you can move it onto another one of your own PC's or servers. You are deactivating the key then letting your renter activate it on their PC. Where some get scared is allowing another person to access their key. As the owner of the bot there is likely to be a dashboard you have access to that often connects to your discord.

As you will just be giving the renter the key to the bot and deactivating it allowing them to activate it on their PC, they will not have any control over the bot. They cannot steal it from you or stop you from using it at any point as you are still the one that has access to the dashboard. Once you have given them the key and deactivated it, they will activate it on their PC. If at any point you want to boot them off the bot, simply deactivate the key and activate it on your PC. They will still have access to the key but a key without dashboard access is useless. Theoretically speaking if they had mind reading powers and knew exactly when you deactivated the key in the future they could activate the key on their PC when you have deactivated to perhaps move the bot to a different PC but all you would have to do is deactivate it again and it would kick them off.

As long as you don't "unbind" the bot from your discord or email (which ever its bound to, some bots are different) and then give them the key and dashboard login details, you are safe. Simply find a rentee, ask for payment, once payment is received deactivate the key, give them the key, let them activate it on their PC, then once the rental period is over, deactivate the key and reactivate it on your PC and they will have no control and will not be able to use the bot.

This can be quite confusing to take in but a long story short is, ensure you understand how your bots deactivation system works and understand that you are in complete control and they cant steal your bot. Ask your bots support for guidance on this as many bots have different systems.

TIPS ON RENTING OUT YOUR BOT

  • Make your WTRO ask in discord marketplaces stand out, use bold text and emojis âš¡

  • In your listing state that you will be able to provide the renter with guides and support - This will attract a-lot more people

  • Ask for a fair price but try not to undercut others

  • Have set time frames renters can rent the bot such as daily, weekly and monthly

  • Ensure you have a refs and look legitimate to renters

  • Read up on your bots unbinding process
