DATACENTER
DC PROXIES
There really isn't a whole lot to talk about when it comes to DC's. These types of proxy were more prominent back in the day but we see very little use of them in the current era of botting. Nonetheless they still have a few uses which we will talk about. We will also talk about why they are not used anymore and why they should be avoided.
BUYING DC PROXIES
Buying these types of proxies is essentially the exact same as buying ISP's. You are buying a set amount of IP's that have no data limit. DC's will often be much cheaper than ISP's because they are simply not as good. Some providers will have a datacenter title under their ISP products. Thats just how they sell it but in reality they will probably be ISP's. Double check with your provider.
DC PERFORMANCE
When it comes to proxies its all about how the proxy looks to the site your botting. Residentials look the most legitimate and human like, next comes ISP's and then DC's take last place. Because of this they often get banned or throttled making them not ideal for most situations.
When it comes to speed, DC's are very fast. But as they get banned easily as they look most like a bot out of all proxy types, this doesn't help much. The few uses of DC's are as follows
Captcha proxies
Some retail site botting
Monitoring
Some sneaker sites as long as they are unbanned. However they will get banned quickly
Thats about it. We do not recommend you purchase DC proxies for sneaker botting. They are more suited for retail botting on sites such as Newegg and Amazon that have little proxy filtering / anti-bot.
DC PROXIES MAIN USE
When it comes to DC's there are very few practical uses. We listed a few above but we will go into more detail for their main uses. Captcha proxies, DC's are a pretty good pick when it comes to finding proxies for your gmails and captcha harvesters. You can use DC proxies to farm your gmails in tools such as AYCD as-well as using them in your bots captcha harvester. However we don't actually recommend you do this. As we have discussed, its all about what the proxy looks like to your target and most of the time your target is going to be sneaker sites.
If it looks like an actual residential home then you will have no issues in terms of bans and throttles. Same goes for google. If your proxy does not look like a residential home then you will have issues farming your gmails and getting a consistently good score. If you are using DC proxies for farming your gmails and in your captcha harvesters you may experience those issues. This is why we suggest captcha ISP's for this reason.
The other main use of DC's is for retail botting. They can actually be pretty effective on sites such as Walmart (checkout), Amazon, Newegg and others. You will have to check with your DC provider to see what sites they work on. We recommend going with a proven successful proxy company if you are purchasing DC's for retail sites. We can recommend our friends over at https://twitter.com/pugxies.
The last use for DC proxies is for Shopify non BP restocks. By this we mean the frequent Kith and other 10am inital sites that tend to restock heavily shortly after their inital restock. As they are cheap it allows you to upscale your tasks a-lot which is essential when running those types of restocks. The good thing is they have no data limit. Resis will do the same thing in terms of being able to upscale, DC's are a better choice as you will not burn data whilst your using them.
CONCLUSION
DC's are a good option for a select few reasons. Other than that there are much better options out there. If you are on a tight budget, DC's are ideal in some situations but other than that we suggest you avoid.
